Do you need transportation?
Bartow County Transit is the lead agency of general public transportation services in Bartow County. If you need transportation, we may be able to transport you to medical appointments, shopping locations and local senior centers throughout Bartow County.
The Bartow County Transit Service operates throughout the County starting at 7:00 a.m. until 5:50 p.m. Monday through Friday. The first drop off must be scheduled no earlier than 9:30 a.m.
The Transit Service currently operates with 13 passenger vehicles, seven of which are equipped with wheelchair lifts. The maximum capacity on wheelchair vans is 10 passengers. Vans without wheelchair lifts will hold up to 15 passengers.
Who can ride Bartow County Transit?
Anyone requiring non-emergency transportation is eligible to ride Bartow Transit. Children five and under must be in a car-seat and Transit does not provide these accommodations. You must be at least 18 years of age to ride without a parent.
How much does it cost to ride Transit?
$1 per trip for ages six and above. $5.00 per trip to Rome, Ga. $2.50 per trip from Acworth to Adairsville, Ga.
When should I call for transportation?
To request a ride call 770-387-5165 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. NEXT DAY TRANSPORTATION MUST BE SCHEDULED BY 1:00 P.M. Spaces are limited - RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
You must give the dispatcher your name, address, telephone number, date and time of your appointment and the address of your destination.
Bartow County Transit does not run routes on Saturday or Sundays, and is closed on normal holidays observed by the Bartow County Government.
Passengers should be ready 1 hour before the scheduled pick-up time and be at a main entrance or curbside if weather permits. The driver is allowed to wait five minutes before proceeding to the next destination.
CANCELLATIONS AND "NO SHOWS":
In accordance with Federal and State regulations, Bartow County Transit Service has established the following "No Show" Policy.
Bartow County reserves the right to suspend riding privileges for a reasonable period of time to any customer who, on multiple occasions, does not call to cancel their pick up at least one hour prior to the scheduled pick up time. These will be logged as "no shows" or missed trips.
Cancellations: Those wishing to cancel a scheduled pick up should call the Transit office no later than one hour before your scheduled time to cancel the appointment. Failure to call at least one hour before your scheduled pick up time will result in a "no show".
"No Shows": Three logged "no shows" of five or more reserved trips within a 30-day period will result in a ten-day suspension. The fourth "no show" will result in a 30-day suspension. Repeated violations of the no-show policy within a 12-month period will cause the length of the suspension period to be increased.

Transit Drivers are CPR certified and PASS certified. Our drivers undergo regular defensive drivers training and receive numerous Bartow County Safety Awards.
