Allatoona Lake Recreational Facilities
 - Amenities: Featuring over 1,000 secluded RV and tent campsites found along the shoreline of this 12,000 acre lake. Visitors can experience the wonders of nature, dive into water sports and generally relax knowing that your never more than 10 minutes from town. A stop at the Visitors Center will provide you with detailed maps of the lake and recreation areas and will introduce you to the history of Allatoona Lake, Bartow County's geology, the Native American culture and the Civil War. The Overlook provides soaring view of Allatoona Lake, its dam and the Etowah River below. Hiking trails end at the river bottom. Trail maps for the following trails are available at Allatoona Lake Project Management Office/Visitor's Center & Overlook - 8 AM-6 PM (summer), otherwise 8 AM-4 PM. Open daily. Handicap Accessible. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this is the oldest Corps lake in the southeastern U.S. No admission fee to visit. Beautiful free fun for everyone. Atlanta Campaign Pocket Park Amenities: One of five Atlanta Campaign Pocket Parks was constructed at Cassville by the WPA in the 1930's. The park commemorates The Cassville Affair. George Washington Park (aka_Bartow Carver Park ) Amenities: 1 baseball-softball field, 2 youth playgrounds, day use picnic areas, large indoor facility for large group rentals. Includes restrooms, showers, kitchen area, outdoor grills, and front porch and rocking chairs overlooking Lake Allatoona. Large inside group community building with beach area and playground areas. Three small pavilions and one large group picnic shelter with grill, boat ramp, walking and hiking trails. Usage of pavilions, community building and shelters by reservation only. Dellinger Park Amenities: Family-oriented park, with 13 lighted tennis courts, 6 softball fields, football/soccer field with 440 track, 4 shelters (available for rent), 4-acre lake with gazebo, 2-mile walking trail with 20 exercise stations, 2 playground areas (ADA accessible), 2 basketball courts, restrooms, Olympic-size pool, Putt-Putt. Walking trails include the Vita course with a 2-mile outer loop and 1.3 mile inner loop, with exercise stations offering calisthenics instructions. Cinder surface; rated easy; emergency call boxes available and lighted course are provided on trails. Gatewood Park - Amenities: 2 large group shelters ( reservation only), 1 youth playground, large field, nature Trail walk, Boat ramp and large parking area ( parking permits available on site). Also 60 camp sites with power, water, picnic table, grill and concrete pad and 12 primitive sites with bath house for campers. Park Attendant on site. Etowah Indian MoundsAmenities: Home to several thousand Native Americans between 1000 A.D. to 1550 A.D., this historic 54-acre site contains 6 earthen mounds, a plaza, village area, borrow pits and defensive ditch. Many artifacts show how the natives decorated themselves with shell beads, tattoos, paint, complicated hairdos, feathers and copper ear ornaments. Hamilton Crossing Park Amenities: 7 lighted baseball fields, 6 lighted baseball/softball fields, 1 lighted football field, 1 lighted soccer field, 8 lighted tennis courts, 2 lighted outdoor basketball courts, 5 youth playground areas, 6 restroom facilities, 1 large picnic shelter (reservation only), 1 small picnic shelter ( first come bases), Hamilton Crossing Gym, 8 outdoor batting cages, 2 mile paved and lighted walking trail and Bartow County Children Memorial. Trails include a great hiking trail. Easy, 3/4-1 mile. A fitness trail runs along the outer perimeter of the park. Manning Mill Park and Youth Facility Amenities: 1 lighted baseball field, 5 lighted baseball/softball fields youth playground area, large picnic shelter (reservation only), 3 restrooms, 1.4 mile lighted walking trail and 5-acre lake. The 1.5 mile trail runs alongside the outside of the park, lake and baseball fields. Pine Log Creek Walking Trail - Amenities: 4.5 mile trail over parts of Pine Log Mountain East and West Loops, 240 acre of Green space. Trail is extreme hiking in some parts and moderate in others on compacted soil surface. Pine Mountain Recreation Area Trails Amenities: Total 4.38 miles: East Loop 2.34 miles, West Loop 1.57 miles; 4 hours steady pace; compacted soil surface; moderate to difficult.
Pine Mountain is the newest recreation area in the City of Cartersville. The East Loop Trailhead connects the city to Lake Allatoona's shoreline and reaches 1,562 feet above sea level. The rugged and challenging trail development crosses Pine Mountain and Hurricane Hollow, so named by early miners. The land is part of the 13,000 acres that were originally the site of Mark Cooper's Iron Empire. The new West Loop Trailhead is now open at I-75 Exit 288, at the entrance to Komatsu. The West Loop connector will be completed in Spring 2009 that will tie the Pine Mountain Trails to Cooper's Furnace Nature Trail at the Etowah River. Pine Mountain Trails are open daily for hiking. Mountain biking is allowed only on Wednesday and Saturday. Bikers must follow color-blazed directional signs for those days, no exceptions. Mountain bikers must wear helmets. The trail is maintained by the City of Cartersville Parks & Recreation Department. Note: The Trail Map does not show the West Loop Trailhead at I-75 Exit 288. Phone: 770-387-5626. Directions: I-75 Exit 290, east on GA 20. Right at traffic light onto Spur 20. Continue approximately four miles. The East Loop Trailhead access and parking area is on the right, just past the turn to Bartow Beach and Gatewood Park. Spring Bank Trail (Google Map) - Home of the largest white oak in the state of Georgia. Se the Georgia State "Champion White Oak Tree" - 37 acre greenspace since 2002.  Pre civil and civil war Historic - Charles Wallace Howard Home.  Approximate 1 mile in and 1 mile out trail.  Very easy, however difficult for wheelchair. 

From I 75 – Take the Adairsville exit # 306 and turn West onto Hwy 140 Travel West on Hwy 140 - cross Hwy 41 and then cross RR Bridge.  Turn left onto Hall Station Rd.  Continue on Hall Station approximately 8 miles.  Drive Way to Spring Bank (301 Hall Station Rd will be on the right) .  Trail Map

Red Top Mountain State Park - Amenities: This popular 1776-acre park on 12,000-acre Lake Allatoona is ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. Visitors can bring their own boats or rent from Park Marine. 12 miles of hiking trails wind through the park, providing opportunities for exercise and to explore a reconstructed 1860's log cabin. Clark Creek North Campground - I-75 Exit 278 east. - Amenities: 24 campsites, shower washhouse with hot showers, laundry, boat launch, dump station, park attendant on duty. Pets allowed (limit 2 pets, no vicious animals permitted). Open April-Labor Day.

McKinney Campground - I-75 Exit 285 east or I-75 Exit 278 east. Amenities: 150 campsites, two shower washhouses with hot showers, one handicapped site, laundry, beach, dump station, boat launch, park attendant on duty. Pets allowed (limit 2 pets, no vicious animals permitted).
Old Highway 41 #3 Campground - I-75 Exit 283 west, south on GA 293. Amenities: 50 campsites, shower washhouse with hot showers, laundry, playground, boat launch, dump station, park attendant on duty. Pets allowed (limit 2 pets, no vicious animals permitted). Open April-Labor Day.
